Why do we exist?

  1. Land should not be commodified but needs to be considered as a common good that is used in the general interest of the whole Bijlmer.
  2. The constitutional right to housing/shelter must be a reality for all inhabitants of Amsterdam and the Bijlmer. Decent housing – of good quality, affordable, sustainable and secure – is essential for well-being, health and development opportunities. Nobody should be excluded from this right regardless of socio-economic position.
  3. CLT H-Buurt wants to provide housing and support the emancipation and empowerment of inhabitants. It strives to contribute to thriving neighborhoods with greater social cohesion while ensuring that more livable neighborhoods do not lead to the displacement of current residents. Inhabitants should be able to participate in shaping their neighborhood.
  4. CLT H-Buurt wants to create access to ownership in housing and neighbourhood facilities, to create more ownership of their environment and to stimulate capital build-up for future opportunities in the society.

What do want to accomplish?

  1. CLT H-Buurt wants to create access to housing and neighborhood facilities that fulfill the needs of all Bijlmer residents, but gives priority to those with the least opportunities. By making the ownership of land collective - and the housing individual, it wants to give local communities more control over their neighborhood.
  2. CLT H-Buurt wants to ensure that housing remains affordable, generation after generation, by limiting the purchase and resale price via anti-speculative clauses. In this way, CLT Bijlmer offers an alternative to the speculative housing market.
  3. By giving the inhabitants the possibility to become homeowners, and by involving them intensively in the development of housing projects and the organization, CLT H-Buurtr offers opportunities for emancipation and closer involvement in the way the city is developed.
  4. Next to housing, CLT H-Buurt aims to develop community-infrastructure / facilities, this contributes to the social cohesion of the neighborhoods in which it operates and the development of the local economy.
  5. In all projects, CLT H-Buurt seeks an optimal balance between the individual interests of the residents and the general interest of the communities in which CLT H-Buurt operates, with a long term perspective. The CLT is therefore composed of three parties:
    1. (future) owners of CLT dwellings,
    2. residents of the neighborhood and civil society,
    3. experts, (social) investors, government

How do we want to accomplish this?
